Tyler Hanes

Tyler will be playing teen heartthrob Link Larkin in HAIRSPRAY at Sacramento's Music Circus from August 19-28, 2008. The musical-comedy phenomenon is being directed by Gary John La Rose with choreography by Bob Richard and is starring Paul Vogt of MadTV.

After he closes HAIRSPRAY, he will head off to Chicago to star as Chad in ALL SHOOK UP at the Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre. ALL SHOOK UP features the music of the legendary Elvis Presley and is based on the plot of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Directed and Choreographed by Marc Robin, ALL SHOOK UP runs from September 24-December 7, 2008,

Tyler was most recently seen in Marc Blitzstein and Joseph Stein's JUNO, the second Encores! production of New York City Center's 2008 season. JUNO chronicles the disintegration on an Irish family in the early 1920's. Tony Award winner Victoria Clark starred as Juno Boyle and Tyler played her ill-fated son, Johnny Boyle. The show was directed by Tony Award winner Garry Hynes with musical staging by Warren Carlyle.

Tyler played his final performance of THE STUDIO on December 9, 2007 at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA. The critically acclaimed dance play, which was written, directed, and choreographed by Christopher d'Amboise, also starred Stephen Lee Anderson and Chryssie Whitehead. For more information see here.

After one year with A CHORUS LINE, Tyler played his final performance as Larry on July 22, 2007.

Tyler just won the OUT TAKES Dallas Best Leading Actor Award at the OUT TAKES Dallas Film Festival for his work in "In The Blood."

Tyler was nominated for a 2006 Joseph Jefferson Award. He was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for his role in Footloose.
